Module Re-Flash for Start-X HC

If you are encountering difficulties while programming the Start-X kit and find it necessary to reflash the module, please carefully follow the detailed instructions provided below to ensure a successful process.

1. Create an account on the Weblink Link Updater website. This is an essential step because the account will give you access to the tools and resources required for programming and reflashing the module.
2. Next, download the Weblink Computer Application from the website. This application is the primary software you will use to interface with your Start-X module and perform the reflashing process.

3. After successfully setting up your account, connect the module to your computer. You can do this by using either a USB-C cable or a USB-Mini-B cable, depending on the type of port available on your module. Ensure the connection is secure to avoid any interruptions during the reflashing process.

   Tip! Make sure the cable is not a charging only cable. It must be a cable designed for data transfer.

4. Once the module is connected, locate and click on the blue Weblink RS icon within the application interface. This will open the relevant section needed to configure your module.

   

5. From the options presented, select Configure New Module This option initiates the process of setting up the module, allowing you to input the correct information and settings.

   

6. At this stage, re-enter your vehicle information accurately. This step is crucial because the module needs to be configured specifically for your vehicle’s make, model, and year to function correctly.

   

7. If you are working with an RF kit, there is an additional step on the Remote Configuration page. Here, you must enter the RF remote serial number. Make sure to add the serial numbers for both fobs if you have two, as this ensures that both remote controls will be properly recognized and programmed.

   

8. Following this, select the recommended firmware option provided by the application. Using the recommended firmware helps guarantee compatibility and optimal performance of your Start-X kit.

   

9. For certain vehicles, the software may prompt you to select an install type. When this happens, choose the option labeled T-Harness. This selection is important as it corresponds to a specific wiring configuration that suits your vehicle.

   

10. Under the Quick Configuration settings, enable the factory keyless remote start activation. To do this, select the option labeled Lock, Lock, Lock. This setting allows you to activate the remote start feature using the factory keyless entry system.

    

11. Once you have completed all the above steps, save your settings. Take a moment to review the flash summary to ensure all information is correct and that you have not missed any critical steps.
12. Next, click on the Flash Your Device button to begin the reflashing process. This step will update the module’s firmware and apply all the configurations you have entered.
13. After the flashing process is complete, disconnect the module from your computer and return to your vehicle. Repeat the programming steps as outlined in your Start-X kit manual to finalize the setup.
14. Once the programming is finished, thoroughly test the system to confirm that it is working correctly. If you added RF remotes during the programming, make sure to test the RF kit again to verify that both fobs are functioning properly and controlling the vehicle as expected.
