Start-X FAQs

Here are some common questions regarding Start-X remote start kits:

• Start-X Kits:
  • Do not alter the vehicle's operation, and will only start the vehicle using the OEM key fob or RF kit adapter.
  • Do not provide convenience features such as horn honking, parking light flashing, or headlight control. The only exception is for older Toyota Tacoma models, which may have limited functionality.
  • Do not alter the range of the OEM key fob's functionality.
  • Only enable remote start from the lock output of the OEM key fob. You will not be able to change this function to operate from other key fob buttons, such as the OEM remote start button.
  • Will not work on vehicles without OEM keyless entry.
• After remotely starting the vehicle, it is recommended to drive it. Some manufacturers' OEM security systems prevent multiple remote starts unless the vehicle is started and driven with the factory key inside the vehicle.
